Terms of Service

This is a personal project, not a business. lbrouter is a single gateway run by one individual on their own hardware, as a hobby and a convenience for people who want it. It is not a company, has no staff, offers no commercial support, and makes no service-level commitments. By creating an account or using the gateway you accept these terms in full; if you do not, do not use the service.

1. What the service is

lbrouter is a self-hosted gateway that accepts OpenAI-, Anthropic- and Responses-compatible API requests and forwards them to third-party AI model providers on your behalf. It adds routing, failover, per-token accounting and a credit wallet on top of those upstream APIs.

The models themselves are provided by upstream providers. lbrouter does not create, train or host any model. Model behaviour, output quality, availability and upstream pricing are entirely outside this project's control.

2. Accounts and keys

3. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

Because this is a one-person operation, abuse is handled by disabling the account, not by negotiation. Lbrouter may suspend or delete any account that breaks these rules, at any time, without notice.

4. Credit and billing

5. No refunds

All payments are final and non-refundable. This includes:

This is a deliberate part of the deal: small prepaid top-ups through a hobby project cannot carry the accounting and chargeback overhead of a refund process. If you are not comfortable with that, do not add credit. Because the service is run by an individual in a personal capacity, statutory consumer-withdrawal rights that would apply to a business seller may not apply here; where they do apply and cannot be waived, this section is limited to the smallest extent the law allows.

6. Availability — no guarantees

The service is offered on a best-effort basis with no uptime commitment of any kind. It may be unavailable, slow, rate-limited, or shut down entirely — for maintenance, because an upstream provider changed or removed an endpoint, for cost reasons, or for no reason at all. Nothing here promises that it will exist tomorrow. Do not build anything whose failure would cause you loss without a fallback you control.

7. No warranty, no liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lbrouter is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including lost data, lost profits, lost credit, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages — whether based in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the total amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim, which for most users is zero.

You use the service at your own risk. Model outputs may be wrong, offensive, or unusable; you are responsible for reviewing anything you rely on.

8. Your responsibility

You agree to indemnify and hold Lbrouter harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of your use of the service, the content you submit or generate through it, or your breach of these terms or of an upstream provider's terms.

9. Third-party providers

Requests are forwarded to model providers and, for top-ups, to payment processors. Each of those has its own terms and privacy policy, which you are bound by when your request reaches them. Lbrouter is not responsible for their behaviour, outages, price changes, or data practices.

10. Ending your account

You may stop using the service at any time; delete your keys and request account deletion by emailing the contact address below. Lbrouter may suspend or delete the account of anyone who breaks these terms, abuses the service, or attempts to evade billing, with or without notice. On closure, any remaining credit is forfeited as set out in section 5.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised as the service evolves; the "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will, where practical, be announced by email to registered users.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lbrouter's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
